Originally from Birmingham, UK, Laura studied illustration at the University of Brighton, here she tried animation for the first time and went on to spend her three years of BA experimenting with 2D and stop-motion animation. After she graduated, she was accepted into the Royal College of Art in London where she studied experimental animation, obtaining her MA in 2018.

Laura’s style and interests are highly influenced by the strange children’s cartoons she grew up with as well as her passion for horror films. She likes to contrast colourful visuals with unsettling narratives, a combination of the innocent and grotesque.
